Vinification of Riesling Grand Cru Praelatenberg
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The grapes are gently pressed and the juice is naturally clarified at low temperature. This Riesling Grand Cru Praelatenberg is made from selected plots of limestone, granite and gneiss soil. The wine is vinified in geothermally temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by 18 months' ageing on fine lees.
Description of the Riesling Grand Cru Praelatenberg
This Riesling Grand Cru Praelatenberg is a brilliant, pale yellow colour. On the nose, the bouquet reveals lovely floral and citrus notes, with lime and orange peel. This rich fruity palette continues on the palate with a lovely freshness and a hint of minerality that give it perfect balance.
It goes wonderfully with noble fish in any form of cooking, shellfish and Japanese cuisine.

The majestic Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg overlooks the steep slopes of the Praelatenberg. This rich terroir produces full-bodied, fleshy wines, founded on a base of intense minerality. Praelatenberg is unique in its combination of micro-climate and gneiss. The latter gives the wines a crystalline, elegant minerality, whatever the grape variety.
